Asthma related to gastroesophageal reflux disease: a case report and review

چکیده

Asthma is a common respiratory disorder that characterized by airway hyper-reactivity and chronic inflammation. gastroesophageal reflux disease can occur together, both affect each other. We represent 41 years old male patient with chief complaint of asthma preceded burning sensation on his throat also heartburn over the last three months. Patient had visited family doctor but symptom still occurred. He been experienced six episodes these symptoms since month ago. On physical examination there were wheezing lung prolong expiration phase. There was no abnormality electrocardiogram, chest X-ray complete blood count. After administration short acting bronchodilator proton pump inhibitor agent, clinical status improved dramatically. than given salmoterol fluticasone inhaler, antacid, ANT as take-home medication. follow up visit to policlinic first, fourth- eight-week denied any shortness breath anymore. Various pathological processes play role in pathogenesis GERD Asthma. two theories suggested mechanism caused induced Asthma, including reflex theory.
